Payment & Pet Insurance![]() We strongly endorse the principles of pet insurance, and would always recommend that you take out this cover. Changes were made to the Financial Services Act in Jan 2005, and the effect of these is that unless we are an insurance broker, we are not permitted to make any recommendation regarding any particular insurance company. Whilst we have no desire to lose our independence, we strongly recommend insurance, providing you chose the right company. We have therefore become agents of Pet Plan, finding them to be an insurer who pays promptly and fairly. One of the greatest sources of dissatisfaction with insurance is when your insurer refuses to continue cover after 12 months. Not only does this mean that your pet no longer is insured for the risk in question, you will find that any subsequent insurer will refuse to cover this risk. The problem is that most of our clients only find this out once they hit the problem - when it is too late! Whilst we have become an insurance agent, another vet called Henry Hartley has devised his own solution – www.insureyourpet.co.uk, a website dedicated to pet insurance, giving unbiased information and evaluation of the different companies and policies. See what pet owners think, bearing in mind that they are likely to rate a company based on their claims experience, not the attractiveness of the promotional literature We very strongly recommend the virtues of the lifetime cover. This cover means that an insurance company will not refuse to insure your pet, or slap on exclusion clauses once you have claimed from them. If you do choose one of the cheaper annual policies, please be aware of their limitations. Please note that Pet Plan now also offer annual policies for those who want a more-affordable policy. If you have any queries about your insurance, please speak to Cheryl, who fills in all the claim forms. And should you ever feel that a company is being unfair to you, do contact us – we can usually sort most problems out with a phone call or two. |
