9month puppy suddenly weeing in the house!08.02.2006Hope you can help - my 9 month old labrador pup, who house trained v.quickly only ever had 4 accidents, has suddenly started weeing (only a little bit) in 2 places in the house. Its like he\'s marking the territory as he only does little bits and never when he should be in need of a wee. We haven\'t had any other dogs or pets in the house and he is fine in himself in every other way. Do you think he needs to be neutered? and can he be at 9months? Many thanks, - vikki sowerby Urinating in the house can be a sign of territory marking in male dogs particularly if it is the same spot each time. Castration may help with this but it certainly is not guaranteed as a solution. If he is urinating when you are out of the house this can because he is becoming anxious when left for instance. Once dogs have learned to urinated in a certain spot the scent of this can be difficult to eliminate and this can encourage them to repeat the behaviour , a good disinfectant and an odour eliminator such as Pet Fresh can help with this Just to be on the safe side it may be worth getting him checked out at the vets and coming prepared with a urine sample in a clean container can allow us to quickly rule out any medical problems.
