hi julie

smelly feet in dogs usually indicates a yeast infection. Yeasts thrive in warm moist environments, and in dogs with furry feet the area between the pads is often poorly ventilated and can get quite sweaty, providing the perfect environment for these bugs.

I assume there are no other signs of skin disease such as itchiness or hair loss?

yeast infections usually respond well to shampooing, but infection will tend to recurr because the environment remains the same. Clipping excess fur from around the feet may help let the air in.

really your pet needs to be checked over to determine why the feet smell, and to make sure that there is no other skin disease involved
